E-grocery logistics: exploring the gap between research and practice

Purpose This paper investigates the logistics management in e-grocery sector. It contrasts key issues faced by practitioners and topics addressed academic literature, to identify potential misalignments between research practice propose avenues for future efforts. Design/methodology/approach work adopts a twofold methodological approach. From an perspective, systematic literature review (SLR) is performed define so far scholars when analysing logistics. managerial Delphi study accomplished most significant context associated significance. Findings The develops conceptual framework, identifying mapping 9 main challenges along 4 clusters, light of logistics-related revision SCOR model: distribution network design (area be served, infrastructures), order fulfilment process (picking, storage, consolidation, delivery), choices from other domains (product range, stock-out management) automation.
